Order of Malta Ireland is dedicated to the provision of hospitaller assistance at home and abroad, through the members and volunteers nationally, and through Malteser International, the Order of Malta’s worldwide relief agency, internationally.
Order of Malta Ireland is part of a major global humanitarian institution which has been helping those in need in all parts of the world without distinction of religion, race or political persuasion for over 900 years.
Today, the Order is present in 54 countries and through its 6 Grand Priories, 5 Sub Priories and 47 National Associations, it provides assistance in more than 120 countries throughout the world.
The Order's national organisations (including its Grand Priories, National Associations, relief organisations and foundations) in the countries where they are present, are responsible for carrying out the Order's activities in more than 120 countries throughout the world. The permanent institutions - such as ambulance corps, hospitals, hospices and old peoples' homes - are either managed directly by
the Priories or National Associations, or by subordinate bodies.
